Custom Software Development Practice |
| Trilliant Group is an experienced Custom Solution Developer employing modern methods to deliver high quality results.
The SDLC Waterfall Methodology is also known as the Linear Sequential Model
The IEEE/EIA 12207.0 Specification replaced MIL-STD-498 for the development of DoD software systems in August of 1998. |
Trilliant Group believes that the key to a successful software development project is sound planning and a well-defined approach. Therefore, we employ a modified version of the standard Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) “waterfall” methodology to insure that the application(s) developed meet the defined business objectives while minimizing the pitfalls. Variations to this traditional approach are employed depending upon the project requirements, which might require additional “spiral” phases, such as prototyping. Project Planning includes reviewing current systems and workflow in order to establish goals for resource availability, cost restrictions and timeframes. Requirements Definition is predominantly the initial, high-level requirements analysis resulting from in-depth interviews with prospective users, direct managers and business executives. Design furthers the process into a detailed Functional Specification covering infrastructure, database design and visual (User Interface) representations. Development utilizes current technologies such as Visual Studio, .NET 2.0 Framework and C# programming language with emphasis on code re-usability and object-oriented procedures. This phase also includes the technical writing activities necessary to provide basic User Guide and Administrative Reference documentation.

SDLC Waterfall Methodology
![]() Integration & Test incorporates assuring the new application interacts with existing client environments as well as providing Quality Assurance testing and Regression testing for all identified defects. The use of actual client data promotes the best outcome for these activities. Installation & Acceptance includes client-site installation, training primary client personnel on the developed product, and securing acceptance of the developed application by client stakeholders. Post-deployment application enhancement and basic software support typically comprise the longest running phase of any business-critical application. Beyond the SDLC development processes outlined above, Trilliant may also undertake an on-going System Upgrade & Maintenance phase, or alternately, participate in and collaborate with you to ensure that these activities can be delivered internally. Contact us to discuss your requirement and learn how Trilliant Group may undertake one or all of these phases on your behalf. We can also provide overall or phase-specific project management talent; our extensive experience balancing technical solutions with business and mission objectives fosters successful software development projects. |
