Trilliant Group Partners with
Verdiem
Lebanon, Ohio's boutique engineering firm, Trilliant Group, will
provide Verdiem's award- winning PC Power Management Software
SURVEYOR™ to energy-conscious IT organizations
Lebanon (Ohio) and Seattle – October 10, 2007
– Trilliant Group Inc., a boutique consulting engineering
firm specializing in IT energy transformation, today announced
that it has entered into a strategic agreement with Verdiem. Trilliant
Group's managing partner Bob Wardell said today, "Given our specialization
in the areas of server energy assessment, and energy, thermal,
and carbon reduction, we are pleased that this partnership with
Verdiem teams us with the leading developer of power management
software for PC networks."
Under terms of the agreement, Trilliant Group will sell and implement
Verdiem's SURVEYOR™ software to its client base. "With increasing
frequency, we have seen our clients request energy efficiency
solutions that extend beyond the datacenter, with a focus on networks
of desktop PCs," said Wardell. "Our partnership with Verdiem will
now provide clients the finest technology solution for PC power
management."
By placing PCs and their monitors into low-power states whenever they're
not in use, SURVEYOR can significantly decrease thermal loads; reduce
microprocessor draw; and, make devices run quieter through less frequent
fan operation without decreasing productivity. Organizations such as
Clear Channel Communications; Turner Properties, A TimeWarner Company;
Quad/Graphics; The City of Boston, Massachusetts; and, City University
of New York are among the many customers benefiting from significant
energy and cost savings as a result of deploying SURVEYOR.
"Partnering with a firm like Trilliant Group is an exciting opportunity
for Verdiem. Engineering firms are sometimes the first line of defense
when it comes to operational and infrastructure-related energy efficiency.
We look forward to increasing energy efficiency opportunities to Trilliant's
customer base," said Dave Harvey, vice president of business development,
Verdiem.
Mark Wasilko, managing director of the newly formed joint venture
between GE and AES, GE-AES Greenhouse Gas Services added, "We
retained Trilliant Group to provide software evaluation, technology
transfer, development, and testing of energy saving software technology.
We are thoroughly pleased with their work and their professionalism.
They are uniquely positioned to address both energy and power
management, as well as carbon emissions assessments. We are confident
in Trilliant Group's in-depth understanding of the issues, as
well as their ability to deliver results."
On average, SURVEYOR lowers energy consumption for each PC by one third
per year, a fact well worth noting. For example, running a 5,000-PC
network pumps about 6.65 million pounds of CO2 into the atmosphere in
a given year. That's the equivalent of 475 mid-size vehicles driving
on the road for a 12-month period. If SURVEYOR were used with the same
5,000-PC network, it could cancel out the equivalent of CO2 emissions
from 110 mid-size vehicles for a year.
